Heat Exchangers

Phoenix Systems uses only fluoropolymer non-stick heat exchangers in our reactor tank. The attributes of our proprietary fluoropolymer heat exchangers include non-stick surfaces that inhibits crystal bridging for better acid recovery. Efficient acid recovery returns clean acid to the pickling tank to the benefit of the plant. We offer three different levels of tubing to meet market demands.

All three options offer quick on-site repair or isolation of a heat exchanger tube in the unlikely event of tube damage, thus getting back in operation quickly with no loss in heating or cooling capacity.

All three options produce efficient heat transfer, minimal fouling and crystal bridging, which is common in polypropylene and polyethylene heat exchangers.

H2 Conductive Tubing (H2CT)

H2 Conductive Tubing Heat Exchangers, with a 45+ year history, is our premium, ‘cold process’, heat exchanger that can be used for both chilling and heating. They are used in acid recovery systems, sulfuric acid and hydrochloric pickling tanks, as well as zinc ammonium chloride flux tanks. This tubing shares the same non-stick properties of all of our heat exchangers. The colder temperature from our H2 Conductive Tubing provides for optimized iron and zinc removal, and very reactive acid.

Blended H2CT + FEP

Our blended heat exchanger is a blend of the FEP and our H2CT Heat Exchangers. This blend will increase the chilling capacity of the FEP Heat Exchanger, while sharing the same non-stick properties of all of our heat exchangers.

FEP

Our blended heat exchanger is a blend of the FEP and our H2CT Heat Exchangers. This blend will increase the chilling capacity of the FEP Heat Exchanger, while sharing the same non-stick properties of all of our heat exchangers.

FEP Heat Exchangers can be used in acid recovery systems, sulfuric acid and hydrochloric pickling tanks, as well as zinc ammonium chloride flux tanks. The FEP tubing is durable, non-stick and withstands crystal blasting.  The FEP Heat Exchanger shares the same non-stick properties of all of our heat exchangers.

For plants with economy in mind, we recommend our FEP Heat Exchanger. The FEP tube coil design does not have weld joints, has better heat transfer efficiency than the relatively densely packed polyethylene or polypropylene designs, is more durable, and discourages the build-up and bridging of particulates that restrict flow. Unlike polypropylene, FEP is non-stick, as are all our Heat Exchangers.

Our FEP Heat Exchangers compete very effectively with polypropylene or polyethylene offerings, ours being a little more conductive and non-stick.  Considering extended processing cycles before “hot cycle”, the FEP is far more effective with non-stick Teflon™.  FEP is much more durable and has a much longer operating life than polypropylene and polyethylene.  If a tube fails, it is a simple repair with commonly available plastic fittings.  These exchangers are very cost competitive.

Heat Exchanger Upgrades

Retubing heat exchanger frames provides “like new” processing capacity for minimal cost. Our heat exchangers are easily retubed at the factory.  Retubing is a relatively simple and cost-effective process to assist in maintaining system performing.
